Pay it Forward at EVHS

Zia Credit Union hosted a ‘Pay it Forward’ Saturday, February 17th at the Espanola Valley High School gymnasium to show a ‘random act of kindness’ to Sundevil fans of the Valley. Zia was there handing out tickets to the game, concession stand certificates, and goodies like clappers to show some Sundevil team spirit. EVHS defeated Del Norte with an amazing score of 98 to 73. We love our Valley and we love our devils! While we were there we made sure to have plenty of Scholarship Applications. Zia Credit Union's Education Foundation was originally conceived in 1999 with the goal of raising funds to make Educational Scholarships available to our young members. Since that time, we have presented over $247,250 in Merit Scholarships in the categories of Academics, Leadership, and Special Achievement.

NNMC EXPO

Zia Credit Union was able to be a part of this year’s Expo Wednesday, March 21st at the Northern New Mexico College gymnasium to talk to students about job opportunities as well as sharing the exciting news about NNMC student accounts. Students were super excited to find out about our decision to offer exciting benefits for them such as: NNMC Eagle Debit Cards, half the membership deposit to open an account, and our awesome Kasasa Tunes checking account. Many students couldn’t believe that they could get $25 just for signing up but finding out that they can earn up to $10 every month in iTunes or Amazon purchases. Zia CU is dedicated to being dependable for our members and strives to empower generations of northern New Mexico College students to achieve their dreams through personalized service, education, and lending, with the students best interest at heart.

Chili Bowl

Hot! Hot! Hot! This year’s Annual Chili Bowl was a kicker! Zia Credit Union was able to participate this year in the salsa competition thanks to VP Annitte Lujan and her husband Leonard. Although we didn’t place 1st, 2nd or 3rd we got to see so many of our awesome members and be a part of an important community event. We are so grateful to be a part of the community and participate in events that come our way. We were so glad to be a part of the effort to collect money for the San Martin de Porrez Soup Kitchen where they do some great work for those in need in the community!
