The most up-to-date information for our members during the pandemic

Last updated: July 30, 2020, 12:07MST

Throughout the evolving Coronavirus (COVID -19) pandemic, protecting our members, employees, and community has remained of the utmost importance to us. Credit Unions have been declared essential businesses, so rest assured we are fully functional and here to help you with all your banking needs. We have been able to alter our operations in such a way that we can take care of most transactions without being face-to-face with a member.

We recognize that some other financial institutions in the state have opted to open their lobbies back up. At this time we have decided to keep our lobbies closed, except by appointment. Appointments for member services may be made for Espanola by calling 505-747-3223 and for Los Alamos by calling 505-662-4671. No appointments will be made for teller transactions, as those can all be done at one of our drive thrus. To minimize the wait time at the drive thru for you and others, please fill out a transaction slip before you approach the drive thru.

For all other transactions, you may call (800) 392-7629 to speak with a customer service representative who will schedule a phone or in-person appointment for you.

We have been making preparations for when we are able to safely open our lobbies again. This includes installing barriers and providing fask masks for our employees.

Rest assured that we are taking this health alert seriously and will continue to monitor the evolving situation and follow recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), state and local authorities and respond to this public health situation appropriately.

We are also committed to keeping you in the loop as this situation changes. Here are links to prior communications in case you missed them:

The following are some measures we have implemented to help our members during this time:

Emergency Loans and Loan Payment Extensions
Zia Credit Union has activated our Emergency Loan Program and is offering Loan Payment Extensions. Please contact us at (800) 392-7629  to learn more about our dedicated programs available to assist you and explore options that may help to ease the financial impact of an unexpected income disruption. This program ends on August 2, 2020.

Account Services
While our lobbies are closed, there are a number of ways you can access your account:
•Online Banking at www.ziacu.org (click on login)
•Mobile Banking through the app
•24/7 Voice Response
•Call Center (800) 392-7629
•Drive-Thru at both branches

Full-Service Drive Thrus
With our lobbies now closed, we have placed additional staff at our drive thru windows and expanded the services we provide at the drive thrus. You can now conduct any transaction at the drive thru at either of our branches, including shared branching transactions. If you feel you have special circumstances, please call us at 800- 392-7629. The single most helpful thing you can do to make the lines move quickly is to fill out a deposit slip prior to approaching the drive-thru. We encourage you to take several deposit slips with you to fill out in advance of your next visit to our drive-thru.

Night Deposit Boxes
Outside the entrance to both of our branches are night deposit boxes. We have left deposit slips and pens next to these depositories, and we will be checking them twice a day during regular business hours in order to provide you another way to conduct transactions. Please include your phone number in case we need to reach you with questions. By the way, the pens are brand new and we encourage you to keep the pen you use instead of placing it back.

We will continue to provide you with the great service that you expect from Zia Credit Union, while at the same time being mindful of the health and safety of our members, employees and community.  We will continue to monitor the COVID -19 outbreak and will provide further updates to this page.  If you would like additional information about COVID -19, visit https://www.cdc.gov/ .
